shaw sentenced to maximum penalty for 1984 murder of girl, 14

George Franz Shaw, who sexually assaulted and murdered a 14-year-old Bensalem girl in 1984, then evaded prosecution for more than 30 years, was sentenced this morning to serve 13 ½ to 27 years in state prison. Shaw, 57, of Geneva, Florida, was convicted July 31 of third-degree murder, possession of an instrument of crime and attempted indecent assault in the Aug. 3, 1984, slaying of Barbara Rowan.
