1980 Cuyahoga County (Ohio) John Doe

Cold Case Initiative is attempting to assist the Ohio Office of Attorney General, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) with the case of an unidentified decedent who was found on May 17, 1980 in the City of Cleveland. The partial skeletonized remains were wrapped in a blue blanket, and were found during demolition of an abandoned building. The decedent is a black male, estimated to be late teens to late 20’s, and approximately 5’7” tall.

Scientific and investigative advancements can possibly assist with identification of this individual, however financial assistance is needed in order to do so. As a result, NCMEC and CCI will provide funding intended to further this case.
